Why rectangular

It fits where round cannot

Rectangular duct is the backbone of most forced-air systems in residential and commercial buildings.

Unlike round duct, it fits into tight ceiling cavities, between floor joists, and along wall chases. That makes it the standard choice anywhere headroom or structure limits what a circular section can do. The smooth interior keeps airflow consistent and helps the system run efficiently.

Questions

About this product

What is the difference between a trunk line and a plenum?

A trunk line is the main horizontal duct that carries conditioned air from the air handler to branch takeoffs through the building. A plenum is the transition box that connects the air handler outlet collar to the trunk line. The plenum is usually taller and wider to match the unit outlet, then transitions down to the trunk dimension. We fabricate both.

What gauge is standard?

26-gauge galvanized covers most residential and light commercial sizes. Larger commercial trunk lines and industrial applications are built in 24 or 22 gauge per SMACNA requirements.

Can I get this in a size that is not listed?

Yes. Custom sizes are our core capability. Submit your width, height, and length through the custom quote form and we fabricate virtually any rectangular configuration.

How do the sections connect?

S cleats join the long sides and drive cleats secure the top and bottom edges. Both are sold in bundles of ten and can go on this same order.

Can I pick this up instead of shipping it?

Yes. Local pickup is available at our Chandler shop at 3385 N Nevada St. Select it at checkout. Everything else ships palletized LTL nationwide.
